Salshan were honoured to have been tasked with filming another ‘mega wedding’ these past few weeks, having captured the celebrations for the events of Jazz and Soni.

The Bride’s family are the force behind the world famous Madhu’s brand – a company renowned for being the market leaders in the Asian catering industry and very much connected with all the big weddings in the UK.

We always knew this would be a special occasion and the Sandhu and Anand families did not disappoint, with one spectacular function after another – right across the five events we were involved with.

Madhu’s success over more than 32 years in business meant that they could call on some very special friends to assist them through all the key elements of staging such a grand affair.  They wanted the best that the UK wedding industry could offer and it was humbling to be one of those teams in the mix!

First name on the list was the world class planning outfit, DbZ Events Boutique.  Zibbi’s management expertise was evident throughout.  Her team bring unrivalled expertise and knowledge of such high profile events and we always feel a sense of calm and reassurance when working alongside them.  DbZ would be the key link in bringing all the various ideas, teams and plans together – to create this magical experience for Jazz and Soni.

A modern wedding was always going to demand the latest in audio/visual production and technology.  But this also had to be innovative and relevant – and Kudos AV stepped right up to the mark with a dazzling array of creative lighting, top spec audio production, custom dancefloors, vibrant LED screens and projection mapped stage sets.  A huge thank you to Harry and Shila for assisting us throughout with our own audio and visual requirements.

The list of suppliers did not stop there, as Dream Occasions were at the forefront of all the theming, decor and beautiful flower arrangements.  You could hear the bass levels pushing through the streets of London with the mixing skills of the talented Rajeev B and Jas Johal from Kudos Music.

Five majestic locations hosted all the various events, further info provided below.

May we wish Jazz and Soni, the Sandhu and Anand families, our sincere congratulations and we hope that you enjoy the following moments to summarise one of the biggest weddings events ever staged in London:

First Event:  The Civil Wedding & Chunni Sagan Ceremony | Location:  The Grove, Watford

Hit play for the Arabian-inspired Instafilm:

Later that evening, Soni’s bridesmaids represented with a dazzling 20 minute dance performance to some classic Bollywood and Bhangra tunes.  KSPARK Entertainments provided the choreography masterclass!

Second Event:  The Groom’s Pre-Wed Party | Location:  Lancaster, London

With the volume only going in one direction, the Party stepped up another level!

Third Event:  The Bride’s Pre-Wed Party | Location:  Sheraton Skyline, Heathrow

We played the following video at the Wedding Reception, a summary of the past events and clips of the Sikh Ceremony:

Fifth Event:  The Maharaja Ball, Wedding Reception | Location:  JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane

KSPARK provided the following insight:  “Dance played an integral part throughout this extraordinary wedding and it was our pleasure to bring the vision to life. The highlights included choreographing the family and friends together for an extravagant Bollywood performance; they rocked the floor! This was tailored to the Brides favourite songs with an exciting element of storytelling. For the Maharaja ball we had our dancers welcome guests to their seats with our abstract movement acts, followed by a royal procession to create the entrance of the beautiful Bride & Groom. The entertainment finale was an Indian classical fusion act by global dance sensation Karan Pangali and the KSPARK dancers. A huge congratulations to the beautiful couple and audience we had the pleasure of entertaining”

The following images show the handcrafted bespoke dancefloor by Kudos AV.  And finally, the 7ft/31 cake/11 tiers masterpiece wedding cake, created by Maya Dahlia Cakes:

Jazz & Soni

From the Kudos AV team:  “Being part of a collaboration with some of the leaders in the Asian UK wedding industry is always an honour and working on bespoke and exclusive elements such as Maharaja inspired projection mapped scenes forming a backdrop at the Reception, a hand painted engraved dancefloor or conducting a pyrotechnics performance, makes our work even more enjoyable.  Wishing the wonderful couple a beautiful journey together”

Our next couple are as cool as they come.  Eilla’s a fan of Mr Choo’s creations, Rishi loves to play football on Sunday’s.  And they both have a soft spot for Lola’s Cupcakes.  Perfect!

Throughout the time we got to know them, these two evidently shared a special bond.  It’s hard to describe – their eyes just seem to ‘lock’ in a magical way for the entire duration of the three days we were filming.  And it was this unique connection that first brought Rishi & Eilla together, when they first laid eyes on each other.  Could there be a more perfect couple?

From the outset, it was quite clear they had put a lot of thought into their wedding and every last detail had to be just right.  Eilla is a keen dancer and wanted to ensure that her guests would not only enjoy a first-dance to remember, but as a special surprise for Rishi, perform a dance routine with a group of professional Bollywood dancers.  Rishi was not as confident when it came to the first-dance.  But, equally mindful to impress his fiance and would be guests, he swapped his muddy football boots for dancing shoes and joined Eilla to attend a series of dance classes to practice.  It was at this point that me and Rory headed to London to join Rishi & Eilla at the penultimate class, a few days before the wedding.

The wedding itself was a fun affair, spanning two sunny days during June this year.  The Hindu ceremony took place in Watford at the Bhaktivedanta Manor, home of the Hare Krishna movement.  That morning we arrived a little too early – so we took time out to look around the vast grounds surrounding the Temple, whilst tucking into a plate of chips and ketchup!

Day Two involved the main reception party at the VIP Lounge in Edgware.  The stage was finally set for Rishi & Eilla to perform their amazing first-dance.  It was great to see them dazzle together at that moment – having known how much it meant to them.  I’m pleased to report their routine went down a huge success!

After that, the night was filled with great entertainment, an awesome live band and non-stop DJ music laid on for their family and guests.  Oh, and in true Eilla style – a further two spectacular outfit changes!
