The relationship between a father and his daughter is a very special one, particularly on a wedding day.
For the father, a wedding can also be a big challenge. The monumental nature of the event can be overwhelming. Coming to the final realisation that your daughter will be part of a new life and a new family can be tough.
The tradition of the father giving away his daughter has its underpinnings from the days of betrothals and arranged marriages. Daughters were considered their father’s ‘property’ and it was the right of the father to give his child to the groom. In some cultures, the groom ‘bought’ his right to the bride. Thankfully, times and cultures have largely changed.
For our latest cinematic short film, we step back briefly from the celebrations, as Rav’s father reveals the feeling and emotion shared by so many parents on the wedding day.
This was to be our sixth installment of shoots for the amazing Rav & Kalbir. Our coverage started back in 2011, taking in such majestic venues as Aston Hall in Birmingham and the Coliseum in Rome. It was a true honor to have been connected to so many of their special events and we thank Rav & Kalbir for trusting our team to capture their epic wedding story!
Here are the beautiful and kind words from the Bride & Groom upon viewing their photos and film:
