If you were to ask the SalShan team which venue from 2012 left the biggest impression on us, high up on most of our lists would be the quite incredible Stowe House. The history of the house dates back to 1676; the traditional interior and exterior a photographer’s dream. The backdrop to this wedding was set – a very British building of epic proportions, paired up with a big phat Indian Wedding… we were in for a treat!
The minute we walked into the ‘Marble Saloon’, where the Hindu Ceremony was about to take place, our jaws dropped! Every detail in this Pantheon-inspired room was finished to complete perfection and the ceiling was breathtaking! One of those unique settings where you ‘had to be there’ to really appreciate the beauty. And beyond that, through a side door, your eyes would drift towards a beautiful, romantic landscape that Stowe famously offers. This was only the beginning of a fairytale wedding and we felt honoured to be the team capturing both the photography and video of Anisha & Sonul’s special day.
The SalShan team split up for the morning. With half the team already at Stowe House covering the bridal preparations, team B was back in Birmingham, to cover the groom’s side. You could clearly sense the excitement around Sonul’s house, which was by now full of his family and friends. Sonul made his way to Buckinghamshire in a very lush Aston Martin and we documented the full journey using a GoPro camera (a specialist ‘action’ camera mounted to the car). However, Sal had his work cut out trying to keep up with Sonul on the motorway, but it was worth the extra effort as it made for great footage!
Through watching their photos and short film, you begin to notice the energetic atmosphere throughout the day – from the high-octane Baraat, through to the packed dance-floor in the evening. To top it off, everyone was treated to a mind-blowing fireworks display towards the end of the evening.
Overall, this was without doubt one the biggest venues we’ve ever had to tackle, and looking at the end result, the whole team worked tirelessly on the day to produce something spectacular for Anisha & Sonul. Special thank you’s… to Ritzy Music who were very helpful throughout the evening, plus the string quartet Bollywood Electric who assisted us to create a beautiful scene for the couple’s film.
Congratulations to Anisha & Sonul and their families & friends
